Carnoustie    Carnoustie

The layout is such that every hole has its own character and no two consecutive holes face the same direction, which makes it difficult to find a rhythm in the face of often-stiff winds. With judgement of wind and distance critical, every tee shot needs careful placement to set up an approach to the green.

Carnoustie's finishing holes are notorious with the 16th, a monster par 3 and the Barry Burn dominating the last two holes providing the final challenge on a course regarded as the sternest in golf.

Many feel this course has no peers, a course without a weakness.
