Designed by Javier Arana in the early 1960's, this course respects the natural landscape by including many of the pines and the dunes that formed a barrier separating the pinewood from the beach. As a result, this par-72 course includes: broad fairways; huge, difficult greens; few out of bounds areas; almost one hundred bunkers - some of them natural, taking advantage of the dunes, and the presence of the already famous "cat's claw" - sedum grass (a native plant).

In short, without having any further special hazards, the course makes it difficult to come in at par.
