Golden Eagle  Golden Eagle
The Golden Eagle is situated Rio Maior, about 1 hour north of Lisbon. This championship course designed by U.S. architect Rocky Roquemore, covers 90 hectares, almost twice the size of an ordinary course.

The course fairways are bordered with gentle pine trees, eucalyptus, mimosas, camellias and hydrangeas. The beautiful natural setting and the calm that reigns allow for golden eagles to soar through the sky in the late afternoons.

The Penn Eagle fairway grass is unique in Europe and the Penn Cross greens are quite sizeable but not too undulated. Beware of the plentiful bunkers, there are 87 altogether and in many cases, very large. Not to mention the seven water hazards makes for an exhilarating round of golf.

The restaurant provides a selection of international dishes as well as Portuguese specialties and excellent wines to choose from; most of which are produced on the property.
