Prince's |
|
Prince's golf club is located inside the wide sweep of Sandwich Bay. The layout of Prince's today is more modern than most links, because it has twice risen Phoenix-like from the desolation of war. The grass of the fairways has a fine texture and they maintain the feel of spring throughout the year. They are well trimmed and quite wide. However, beware of the natural drainage ditches and deep bunkers. A famous feature of Prince's are the generous size greens with subtle folds. They run fast and true, but require accuracy. The greens often appear closer than they actually are due to the clear air of Pegwell Bay. The climate in the area is relatively mild allowing for play year round. The natural environment enhances your golf experience as you listen to the sound of the sea, admire the flowers and watch the birds winging their way towards the white cliffs beyond. Prince's hosted the British Open Championship in 1932 and the Curtis Cup in 1956. |
