Royal Liverpool |
|
Built in 1869, Royal Liverpool is one of the oldest seaside courses in England. It is set on the edge of the Dee shores with the distant hills of Wales in the background. Royal Liverpool, or Hoylake as it is familiarly known, has rich history and great tradition of the game. Many memorable moments have taken place here including The Open of 1930 where Bobby Jones won, his Glam Slam year. The course has hosted The Open on ten occasions. The upgraded layout, designed to test the champions, is deceptive with flat, undemanding landscape. The winds are unpredictable, ranging from a summer breeze to an icy gale. |
